Opening Burial Urns

Thank you for purchasing your Burial Urn from 8th Line Creations.

Burial Urns are used to hold the cremated remains of loved ones so you can keep them on display as a gentle reminder.

The Burial urns need to be opened carefully to prevent damage.

Things you will need
• Screwdriver (Either a #6 or #8 Robertson)
• Small Container

1. Make sure you fill the urn on a flat surface and on a sufficiently large piece of paper, so any spills may easily be gathered with a flat brush.

2. Turn the box upside down.

3. Unscrew the screws at the bottom of the urn with the screwdriver.

4. Place the screws into the small container so they are not lost. Gently remove the bottom piece from the rest of the urn. There should be a small x on the inside of the lid at one of the screw holes and another small x on the box beside a screw hole. This will allow you to re-assemble the lid correctly. If your Burial Urn does not have these marks, please make sure you remember how the bottom piece attaches to the rest of the urn.

5. Fill the urn with the ashes. The ashes you received back are already in a container of some sort (plastic bag, tin, etc). Place the container with the ashes directly into the urn.

6. Place the lid back on top of the urn. Screw the screws back in into place with the screwdriver.
