Urns come in various shapes and sizes. How will you know what the best size for you is?
The industry standard is 1 cubic inch of space for every 1 pound of healthy weight. This industry standard should only be used as an approximate size required.
We recommend that if you plan to keep all of the cremains, that you purchase an urn larger in size than you are told you need to make sure you have enough room or wait until you receive the cremains back from the cremation to know the exact amount of space that is required.
Easy example: A cremated 50 lb dog will yield almost 50 cubic inches of ashes. So if 1 pound = 1 cubic inch then this dog would need an urn that is approximately 50 cubic inches on the inside of the urn.
